James Arthur first got involved with the principles of aquaculture and regenerative ecology while still a teenager, volunteering at the Nature Interpretive Center in Chula Vista, California. Currently sailing in the Sea of Cortez and having lived aboard a sailboat for the greater part of a decade, James Arthur has had a lifelong and often daily connection to the ocean. As the founder of Omega Blue Seafood, he has been personally visiting both artisan and large commercial scale aquaculture projects for the past 7 years, vetting best in class operations and internationally sourcing sushi-grade seafood for Michelin Star Chefs and Farm-to-Table restaurants. In 2020 he founded SEATOPIA, the first 100% plastic and styrofoam-free direct-to-consumer seafood subscription box. James Arthur is also a lifelong surfer and a passionate environmental and editorial photographer.
